Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme
CITB Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme
The Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a popular course for those who are undertaking a supervisory role within a construction company. The SSSTS course is relatively short but provides these individuals with the knowledge they need to effectively handle the health and safety of their chosen workplace.
This course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities.
The SSSTS course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites.
The main topics covered are:
- The Health and Safety Legal System
- Construction Accidents – types, numbers and immediate and underlying causes
- Awareness of other Regulations
- Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance Notes
- Work at Height
- Demolition Noise and Vibration
- Occupational Health
- Fire Awareness
- Control of contractors
- Electricity and Confined Spaces.
The method of assessment will be by multiple-choice questions at the end of the course as well as being expected to be interactive during the course.
